www.rangefinderforums.com almost always has them in the classifieds. Also, the parent Steve Gandy site, www.cameraquest.com, lists them for sale. They are still popular among film shooters, who know the advantage. Generally called "soft release".


There is nothing to thread a soft release into on the shutter button of a Digital Nikon DSLR

I used one of the screw in buttons on my ftb. In fact it's still there. I'm going to buy a pair of these pro dots, too, and give them a try.

The Df shutter button is threaded for a cable release.

You mention the ONLY DSLR from Nikon with this feature, because it is styled as a "legacy SLR".
