Amazon has a 4 tube American made set that is very easy to install. I did it for our kitchen.

I got my set of 4 direct replacement LED lamps / tubes from Amazon. They were quitely reasonbly priced, a bit less than $40 as I recall. A 2pack may be slightly higher.

Easy-peasy

If you have a Costco close by check them out, I bought the replacement LED tube bulbs to replace the flourescent tubes in my shop, the light output is amazing, just change the bulbs not the fixtures. The light was so much brighter I took three fixtures out of the shop altogether, didn't need them.

Costco also had the complete fixture with LED lights as well but I didn't need fixtures.

Get the LED fixture, it is more efficient and more reliable.

Did mine at 1000bulbs.com
If you don't want to rewire your fixture be sure to select tubes that are compatible with starters.
I chose 5500 K for noon daylight... very bright might not do that again... but it's nice if working on one of my hotrods to see accurate colors.

I got mine at Home Depot. The bulbs were a direct replacement but you remove the ballast and rewire the fixture. They work great and are as bright as the original bulbs. They were a little pricy but when you consider the longevity, not bad. I have another fixture that has old style bulbs and I also have a case of bulbs. I will do the same to it when the bulbs are gone. The only reason I did this one was that we had a voltage spike that ruined the ballast and ballasts cost as much as the original fixture. The LEDs were about the price of replacing the fixture but cheaper than buying a complete LED fixture.

There are 3 types of 4 foot led lamps bi-pin
1-which you can replace 1 for one it will last about 50,000. hrs
1-which you can remove the ballast tie in 110 volts to end of socket w/o ballast
1-which you can install which has either /or,meaning it will operate with voltage
from power supply or off higher voltage from ballast
Price varies depending which you buy
I just finished a project with 200 lamps. What an incredible difference
Pay attention to color 5000 kelvin is close to daylight as you might get with LED
Good luck!

So, It uses the same ballast/starter that was in the fixture with the fluorescents?

I started by replacing 2 fluorescents with "keep the ballast" LEDs a few years ago. At the same time I replaced another fixture with "rip out the ballast" LEDs so I could compare them in performance. After about a year the ballast quit working (as ballasts have done periodically around here for the past 40 years), and I replaced the LEDs with non ballast ones. That stimulated me to replace the other 20 or so fluorescent tubes around the house and shop with Non ballast tubes. It has been about 5 years now, and everything still works perfectly.

My recommendation: get rid of the ballasts when installing LED tubes and get full benefit of the economy and lifespan. It is not a difficult job. Instructions are on the tube package, or online.
