Most defiantly focus! Without autofocus I am pretty much done anymore. It used to be OK with the little focus dot in the middle where you lined up the two halves, but they took that away, I guess when autofocus was introduced, so if the camera can't focus, I got another out of focus image on my plate

I would have voted for composition as I consider it to be of prime importance and a lot of people don't know enough about it;but I am also thinking that I need to learn more about focus also. The upshot is that you need to cover all 3 subjects, so whatever you feel is best as to the order you pick, just as long as you get to all 3. I believe you to be an excellent photographer & teacher of it. ---Bill

Focus would be my #1 choice. (both manual and AF). And when and how to use AF.

Why can't you people focus a camera? I'll bet you are holding it so that you can use that screen at the back of the camera instead of the view finder and doing that with a telephoto lens and hand holding!
