Paul, excellent series and it sure does show off the ability of a "L" lens. As you know I have my first two and understand the overall quality and IQ of the series. Will be picking up more "used" ones as money will allow. Thanks again for the outstanding series.

Thanks
Greg! I think used is the best, if you can. Hopefully, you saw my post from this same extended trip using a 30ish year old nifty fifty. The L lenses get the press, but there are plenty of sharp lenses with excellent color in the Canon portfolio ....

Nice photos! I was there in late October, and it is a beautiful place.
Thanks
John! I was to the park in late winter back in '96 when I lived in Phoenix and drove up. It was about 20-years until the next time.

Excellent work Paul. The colors and composition are spectacular.
Thanks
Andy! I have another image of the hotel at an angle where you can see people in about half the balconies taking pictures. Several of these images were taken from within a crowd of people standing nearly elbow to elbow on a viewing deck around the main hotel.

Beautiful images Paul. Like the set a lot. Must have been fun shooting. George
Thanks
George! The images here are from an all-day 1 on 1 tour with a Navajo guide selected for photography and a focus on landscape and architecture ruins. I've been to the park before, but never with a licensed guide so we could be in areas not open to the general public.

What a fantastic series of shots. Cheers.
Thanks
flathead27ford! These are links to just the work from the 24-105 II that was the 'primary' lens for the purpose of giving it a workout. It was a good trip with a new versatile lens.

Wow. Outstanding photos and post. Your sixth photo really captured the sun, shadows and snow as vivid white. Great assortment.
Thanks
Steve! A storm came through three days before I arrived at Monument Valley that left a foot in the upper elevations and closed the road to the Grand Canyon. It was a pleasent high 40s F on the day of my tour.

Spectacular series. I also liked the Chicago images with the frosty Bean being my favorite.
Thanks
iDoc. It's March and I'm nearly done with images from over the holidays ...

I can't help but wonder, if I used that lens, would I get the same sharp, clear photos? These are beautiful! I have the old version. Should I consider upgrading? Very tempting!
Thank you
RJWagons! Regarding similar results, the best I can give is a strong maybe ... I've been posting images into the Photo Gallery for a few weeks now with different scenes from the 4-corners area primarily from this lens that arrived finally from a presale order just 2-days before I left Chicago.
Thank you Mr. B, RWCRNC, LBOYD1946, Mathias (MattPhox), Galahad, woodweasel, oldpsych, Stash! Glad you enjoyed.
Beautiful set and great write up.
All of them are excellent, but I especially like the composition and colors in the first one.
