I got my Blurb photo, 140 pages, book just six days after I uploaded it to them. As far as I'm concerned, it's perfect. It is beautifully put together, and the images are at least as good as what I sent them. I chose landscape, hardcover, 8 X 10, with upgraded paper.

$78.++ It's funny how they do their pricing. There's a base price of $20, for so many pages, then it's like 21-30 is so much, and 130-140 is so much. So iot would be the same price for 130 or 140 pages. At least that's the way I read it. Other places charge for each extra page.

What software did you use to upload the pictures, Lightroom4 or their ROES software?
I would like to put a book together and that seems to be a great value for the price.
Thanks,
Carl

Since I was new to LR4, I used Blurb's online software, which is very good. I found that I could make infinite adjustments to their layouts. When I do my next book, I will use LR4 because then I could also produce it as a pdf to save on my computer. Blurb doesn't offer that option.

Jerry,

Thanks for the update and your analysis of the final product. And for the pricing info (I wanted to ask but didn't want to appear like I was prying). My only downside is now I have to get off my butt and get some pictures of my own ready. Glad it worked out well for you.

I'm never shy about telling how much I paid for something. I've never known why people were so secretive about a purchase price.

jerryc41 - thanks for the info, I have been flirting with the idea of trying Blurb since I've heard so much about it. I did get a book made through Shutterfly and it was pretty nice, but I've heard that Blurb is outstanding. I will try it I think and see if there is a huge quality difference as the price difference might suggest.

thanks again!
Belle

I have been using Blurb for a while to do my Photo Books. I am also very happy with their product and also I like the option to show a preview of the books on-line.

Has anyone used both Blurb and AdoramaPix? I have only had my books made at AdoramaPix and everyone I show them to says they have never seen any other books with that quality. I am just curious if they are similar products or if it is apples and oranges with respect to materials and how the books are assembled.

I've used AdoramaPix for several books, and have been extremely satisfied. I love the "lay-flat" style, where you can have a picture spread over 2 pages without the gutter in the middle. I know there are much more professional book companies out there for wedding books, etc., where the best is needed. But for travel books AdoramaPix is wonderful. I even did one for 11 other people on a mission trip we went on, and they loved the quality.
