I need to figure out how to save, transfer, send, export, whatever.... My processed photo from Elements 14 to a USB or DVD or even back to the album in Apple Photos. I have no problem doing this on my PC but I am totally baffled on the MAC. I do not wish to save them to the cloud or in Photoshop. Currently they are sitting open in the edit program on my MAC.
I use a Mac with Lightroom and, more recently, with On1. If you use the Export function, you can specify what directory the images go to. Be sure you scroll down to view and consider all the options within the function (that was the step I had to learn). It's really not that complicated.
I think his question is about getting the processed photos back into his Photos library. It's a PIA, thank you Apple. One has to save the processed photo(s) to a folder somewhere (of the user's choosing) and then import it/them back into the Photos library. I fondly remember the good old days when I set iPhoto to use Photoshop to edit the photos, this situation was not an issue, and life was good.
Thanks, I know photography but do not know computers very well . What is a PIA? And where and how do I tell it to send images? Yesterday I figured out a round about way of sending photos to photoshop organizer and then to a cd from organizer. Is that the only way?
PIA is a sophomoric acronym for pain in the arse. It's not as complicated as you seem to think. You will need a folder into which you'll save the finished photo(s). Could be an existing folder, or have Finder make a new one. Easy peasy, put it on the desktop, again easier than you might think. Clicking on File > Save As brings up a window, the name of the image is the same as when you brought the photo into Photoshop. Just click on save on the lower right corner and the edited photo is saved in your folder. Then you have to get into Photos and import the photo(s) back. You'll want to import duplicates, Photos won't know you edited the photos.
A PIA but as big as you thought. I'm thinking about this and maybe you don't have to do the Save As step, maybe plain old Save will put it back where it came from, in your folder. You still have to import to Photos to get them back in the Photos library.
Thanks, being a former College Instructor, I hate to be spoon fed but sometimes that is exactly what us computer new bees need. One misstep on a computer and it does not compute.
Right click and create a new untitled folder on your desktop. You can click on the letters under the folder and rename it if you want. Go to file in Elements and select process multiple files. It should automaticaly select all opened files. A small window will open. Click on Browse and select desktop. Select your new folder and click on open at the bottom of the page. Choose how you want the files saved, Jpeg, file size etc. and click OK.
You can now import the files from your new folder on the desktop, to Apple Photos or to a thumb drive. A DVD burner program can also import the files from your desktop folder.
I am certainly no expert, but this is how I do it.
PS I am assuming that you are wanting to import all the files you have been working on. If only doing one picture, don't choose the multiple file thing.
