I had to get away and hide to take these, my husband hates my photography. I was so amazed that they could even accomplish this rescue, there were such strong winds, it did take over an hour to get it done. One of my adventures :)

Wow, what a shot! Hope the person is okay! I know what you mean. My husband does not share in my love of photography either. He buys me the equipment, and he will go out with me sometimes. But, it drives him crazy when I see something, and I say "pull over", I need to get a picture of that!! He loses patience. LOL

There are not enough words of praise to describe what the Coast Guard does.

Oh, I am such a blessed man. My wife ENCOURAGES me in all aspects of photography that I pursue
. She's not too crazy about me going to the ocean before sunrise or in the woods / swamps of South Florida with the snakes and alligators though. She has nothing to worry about. I have two or three rather large life insurance policies on myself....she'll be well taken care of if I should pass. And yes, I know. She would rather have me here...I think (lol)

Let me guess - you hid because the ship's Captain requested Privacy during the airlift? All passengers were ordered to return to their cabins until the evacuation is completed?

No, I have to hide from my husband he doesn't like me to take pictures, I tried to hold my ground but he pulled me across the deck. He doesn't help me carry my bag I brought it I'm in charge of it, I was not close at all I used my Canon IS 100-400 to get that shot. It was worth the trouble. I always obey orders from authority, or signs..... well I do go over the speed limit by 5 miles but that's it.

Missed this earlier, you are blessed, I worked just to be able to buy my equipment, the first several years, then I had an injury that crippled my foot so it took three years to get it right, I got a settlement, and got the Canon 5D Mark III and furnished my in home studio, I have a few thousand in props too. I do very little location work unless it is family or friends. Before my injury I went out at 6:00 in the morning until 4:30 brfore my husband got home. I had a few adventures, the scariest was the quicksand situation. Again you are blessed to have a spouse that understands your talent. How do I find your work?
