Has anybody dealt with them?
We bought a new computer tower to work on our pictures. It was defective and I had to send it back . Still trying to get my refund and not getting anywhere. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION. I want to warn everyone be careful of them, if it is settled I will let you know.
I've bought quite a bit from them. I have purchased 3 of their "back off of lease" computers for friends and they have been very good. I have also bought mother boards, memory, processors etc. and all have been fine. They did have several store fronts across the country but have since closed them to go back to their Miami/ mail order footprint. I regret the store closings but did get some really nice buys on their liquidation. I have no qualms about buying from them. Be aware (and this is not a critisism but a comment) that they were originally Globe Office Products and they bought out Comp-USA. If you know what you are looking for, you can probably find it there. Also, look at New Egg Computer and a couple of others too. I sometimes buy mother boards from one and processors, memory, hard drives etc. from the other. Also between the two you have a pretty nice selection of cases, power supplies and graphic accellorators.
I've never had a problem with them but I have had to have them replace a couple of bad parts. This happens with everyone, and they did it rapidly and without any issues.

Best advise you will get.

Very good advise! Companies hate contested payments. It costs them significant $.

Any experience with Tiger Direct before 2016 is no longer relevant since they are now owned by a different company. Reading the Wikipedia article, it sounds like they were never that reliable anyway.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TigerDirectThank you for the update.
I was going to say that through early 2014, we hadn't run into a problem. But hadn't bought anything since then.
I'll pass your information on to a friend who does some repairs on the side!
Has anyone lately used Other World Computing for gear?
I've used them for at least ten years now and never had a problem. I recently bought an HP laptop for my sister in November and she loves it. So I've got no beef with them.
I attempt to buy locally although this is getting harder to do. many years back I did some ordering with Tiger Direct and hand no problems at all. I rank them right up there with the other popular companies.
I still get Tiger Direct notices in my email. They're a very good company.

I think it depends what you buy. If you think of them as a parts dealer, and the parts are genuine, they have been fine in my experience. I have never tried their custom build stuff, so I can't comment on that, but if I build things myself I know where the blame lies! The components from them have been exactly as advertised, and customer service has been excellent when I needed it as a result of my own mistake.
