Yes the light was flat so under the conditions they set up for us to shoot there was not much I could do in the 5 minutes I was given to shoot my shots. And, the window was fake as there was actually no windows in this studio. The light coming from the fake window was from the LED lights.

Your shooting conditions help explain a lot. It is difficult to establish a great relationship with a model in 5 minutes! I'm confident your results would be much better if you hired her for a session by yourself. And most shooters forget to compliment the model between poses!
