I remember when working on cars , they told us that R12 was VERY DANGEROUS this Freon deplete the atmosphere and so on a bit like "global warming "

That's why they replace it by 134 who was so SAFE that we will not need another one ,and now another BS from the E P A

I was working for the Nissan truck plant in Smyrna, TN when the change over from Freon to 134A came about. It had to be done before midnight December 31, 1994. Interestingly, that was the exact moment that DuPont's patent ran out on Freon. At the same time, Al Gore, had been preaching about the dangers of Freon on the climate. It just so happened, DuPont had 134A ready to go. Quid Pro Quo?

Of course. DuPont knew they had to have it because the patent was running out. It's my understanding that a ship load of Freon was on it's way from China. The ship had to be turned around as it was illegal in the U.S. It can still be purchased in Mexico.

It is a Federal offense to sell or transport it... 3 squares a day and a shower, eh?
