Where is the best place to put your photography portfolio and why?

Hello everyone. I'm sure this topic has been handled in previous posts, If so post the links.

I'm looking for a new home for my photographs. I am most interested in those sites which allow you to sell them on the site. Which ones have offered you the best return on your investment? Which one reproduces the images realistically? If you had bad experience with a site, let me know also.

I am under no illusion that this is an effective way to make money online but I'd like to have some fun with it anyway.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I do not sell my photos, but the service I use has that capability. SmugMug is what I use, but it is neither free nor especially cheap.

Throw them into clear sleeves and put the binder on the shelf. I don't store 'em anywhere but on a shelf. Kids are continually pulling out the binders to look through them. My wife throws the binders on the floor, thinking I won't notice. Fooled her - told her the binders had coupons from Zales and Jared. She still won't pick 'em up off the floor, though.

I use Zenfolio. Have used them for 4-5 years and has been great. pretty easy to use. They are always looking to make the site better for you and your clients. I believe they have a trial period to see if you like it also.

How much work do you want to do? Fine Art America handles all the selling for you, and I feel it gives your customer a decent price for the total package of print and frame, at lest on the comparisons I've done.

Bob I wanted to use Fine Art but they couldn't or wouldn't give me all the base prices for prints. I will not change my prices I have now and I can't have two different prices. Thanks

Too bad Tom, they actually make my life very easy, biggest problem is they have so many photos, lot of competition, I probably would not try to sell if I had to do all the printing, framing, billing etc. Bob.
