The answer is yes and no. YES, there are third party grips out their that fit the D7200 and NO, they are not as good as Nikon. That's why Nikon's cost more. As soon as I bought my D500 the Nikon grip went on it, I shoot long heavy lenses and I like the bulk at the camera end. Also when using shorter lenses I love the grip when I go vertical. I also own a Nikon D4s with the monster battery, I have an adapter (from Nikon) that allows me to use that monster battery in my D500 grip. I can shoot all day and night and the next day with that sucker.

Save yup and OEM! I have two after market grips, one each for my D7200 and D3200. Both cause problems with off all things white balance. Shots come out terribly blue. Remove the grip and all is back to normal. Tested this many, many times. Also noted some auto focus issues.
Read that after market grips can cause various, seemingly anomalous episodic or curious issues, such as a color cast visible on the screen and the image.
Buy OEM and avoid issues that will crop up when you least want them to. I am a Murphy's Lawyer since my days in Vietnam. My corollary to the third law of thermodynamics is- Yes it will go bad or wrong "At the worst possible time."

I use a Meike grip on my Nikon D750, and it is excellent. Fit, finish and functionality are great. I previously only bought Nikon grips, but at the current rate you could purchase 4 Meike's and still spend less than 1 Nikon grip. When I used to shoot commerically, I wouldn't take any risks with non-OEM equipment. Now that I am retired, I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this particular 3rd party grip.

Review of the Meike grip on fstoppers.com can be found here:

The Vello grips are also well made.

I have the Nikon grip for my D7200. The first tile I used it to shoot verticals I found it wouldn't adjust the aperture. I called Nikon and tried all the trouble shooting steps with the rep. I explained I had already done that, but he said he was supposed to do it. He was real nice and when we got done he said send it in. I sent it UPS and after not hearing from Nikon for a week after it was received I gave them a call. I gave him the name of the person who signed for it in Melville. A week later they found it and outsourced it for repairs.

I did get it back in working order, but it makes me think about going third party next time.

My recommendation is to get the Nikon. This question comes up on here at least monthly and there have been some what I call horror stories. You can buy aftermarket, but you will probably replace it with a Nikon down the road. Nikon is built around a metal cage to exacting specs and electronics, all aftermarkets I have looked at are all plastic with a thin piece of metal re-enforcing the tripod socket.
Good luck

Hi, I recently bought a Vivitar deluxe grip for my D7100 which also came with 2 batteries from Amazon, I think it cost about $70.00 dollars. The build quality is very good, the fit is also very good, this is something to be careful of when buying an aftermarket grip, some of them just dont fit tight, this is due to the mount on bottom side of the D7100
If you look on Amazon at various grips for the D7100 read the reviews from previous buyers, it will give you a good idea of how the grip fits and performs.
The grip looks good, and feels just right when holding the camera, the Nikon grip is very nice to have but the price is prohibitive.

I've had great luck with the Vello grips for my Nikon D300 and D7100. I purchased both from B&H.
