Buy a good but used camera. If you get a Nikon or Pentax then also buy some old manual focus lenses they are cheap.

On a limited budget you will most likely get the most for your money by purchasing used or factory refurbished gear. That said, as I am primarily a Canon owner, I highly recommend the Nikon D7100. You should be able to find a very nice D7100 with 1 or even two lenses for around $600 USD or even a nice new kit package with multiple lenses and accessories for under $900 USD.

Are you talking a camera that will fit in your pocket or a big honking SLR, if it was me I would look at the SMALLER BRANDS fujiji, fixed lens or small zoom .OR the small Sony, I think they have a small fit in your pocket for around $600 ,

So with this logic then beginner should buy the best to compensate for lack of skill in the beginning. Later you get more skill and don't need such a good camera to get good images.

I am selling a Nikon D5100 kit - 18-55 and 55-200 lenses included for less than your budget. Well used but still look and work fine. Let me know if you're interested. Was about to put two D5100 kits on eBay. I have 2 D7100's and a D750 now so. Don't have enough hands to use ALL those cameras! (-:

With what logic ?? I'm thinking he's looking for a good camera for street , they make them from $50 to a couple thousand or more , the best camera is not going to make you more skilled , there is a lot of we'll known street photographers who use small put in your pocket camereas who make a good living from it .

I've got an em1 on this site for sale. Slap a 14mm f2.5, 17mm f1.8, or 20mm f1.7 (all pancake sized lenses), or 12-32mm zoom and you've got a great street camera (with a tiltable touchscreen).

Not sure what the question is. I just upgraded to the em1ii and no longer need the original.

Too many choices!

Read comparisons and specs, and decide what features are important to you.

Use a good cell phone.
Any outside person will have one and will be common.
Also will be very unlikely to attract any attention at all.

My self being a Canon user I would go to the Canon store on line and look at their refurbished cameras. You get a full warenty on them. I bought a 7D from them four years ago refurbished and it still works great. I just bought an 80D refurbished from them in November and love it. Check them out....Rich
