So this is the deal. The United States will charge a 20% tariff on any goods being imported from Mexico. This 20% will add to the price of all Mexican goods that will be sold in the United States and paid for by American Citizens and shoppers.
So tell me. How the fck is this making Mexico pay for the wall?

Countries charge tariffs on American goods or dump cheap steel on the American markets (because we don't charge tariffs) thereby hurting American companies and jobs. The US need not be the caretaker of other country's economy. There is no reason that there should be a huge market deficit with outher countries. We are the only country that does not protect itself from other countries punishing trade deficit. Just go and try to buy a TV or computer made in the USA. American technology that we no longer make

As I see it, there are 2 ways this can go if Mexico doesn't pay anything
We charge an import tax and
either
We pay for the wall thru buying the goods AND the paying tax that's passed on to us
or
We stop buying the Mexican goods because they cost to much.....but we're still paying for the wall.

Bob, you completely missed the fact that if the US charges a 20% import tariff on Mexican imports, then YOU and ME and all US consumers will be paying for that, not Mexico.
And then, after WE pay for that, we will also suffer jobs losses when Mexico imposes a 20% tariff on US imports, sinking our economy. So, genius, YOU and ME will be paying twice - first when we pay 20% more for goods from Mexico, and then paying in job losses and an economic recession with this stupid f#cking trade war.
