A beautiful day here yesterday warmed to 80. I went for a motorcycle ride with my boyfriend. We stopped by a lake and took a walk along the shoreline. I saw this interesting dead tree with the roots exposed. I thought the roots looked like the legs of an alligator, like something out of a horror or sci-fi movie and it might attack us. My boyfriends response was "what have you been smoking". Thought I would post it to see if anyone else sees what I did. It isn't much to look at, nothing special.

Interesting. A struggle to the death, hence a dead tree!

I think if you cropped it down so the left tree is gone and some of the other branches are removed, for me now, the image you saw is a little clearer. At least this is what I think you saw. Correct?

I did the same thing with some dead tree's when visiting Crater Lake. Here are both images. The first is uncropped the second is cropped. In the Cropped image, it is easier to see the skeletal beast devouring a part of the forest.

A nice, crisp composition of an interesting subject. I see your beast and like the cropped version best.

You have a creative eye that will serve you well in photography.

I think your boy friend has little imagination or "photographer's eye". It's a great shot.

Actually, it looks kind of sexy to me... all the fluidly flowing branches.

Looks like a komodo dragon fighting a giant scorpion to me. Nicely done Samantha.

Trees on or near beaches often develop strangely. Nice shot.

Nasty critter. The head of a alligator and the tail of a squid. Squiator or a crockid.
