Got an email with a single image of an American Kestrel, forwarded by a friend of mine, along with this story, from the photographer:
"Decent images of flying raptors, such as this male American Kestrel can be hard to come by.
…while driving down a farm road in western Placer county, still recovering from a bout with the flu, this Kestrel came flying from behind our SUV passing me on the driver’s side. Knowing I just had a few seconds, I grabbed my camera, yelled to my wife “grab the wheel”, assuming she heard me as I accelerated (and indeed she did grab the wheel and kept us on the road), I shot a quick series, of which only this one turned out.
Don’t do that! Not a good idea!"
Would you say this guy was a risk taker?
