To date I've been shy about posting any of my photos, but I'm very pleased with this picture of Mount Whitney that I took last week. Welcome comments as long as they are complimentary-- I can supply all of the needed criticism myself.
Nicely done Jdh1951
Welcome to UHH
Criticism or praise, it's all just opinion. My opinion is the photo has a lot of impact, mostly because of the contrast between rugged mountains and gentler foreground. Your foreground also helps folks understand the scale/size of these massive beauties. Beautiful shot!

I would love to praise your work as it truly is awesome but not allowing me to criticize....I think I will remain silent.
You have good reason to be pleased with yourself. Bring on some more.

It is a beautiful photograph of the Eastern Sierras from the Alabama Hills. What it is a photograph of Line Pine Peak. Whitney is the rather unassuming 4th finger from the right on the edge of your photograph.
Ah, you disobeyed my injunction against critical comments. You are correct that Mt. Whitney is not the prominent feature of the photograph though, technically, it is still a photo of Mt. Whitney. That Whitney is not in the center is its own fault-- for being so unassuming in aspect.
In future I'll post some other photos for which criticism (at least constructive) will be invited.
I can live with that. Thanks.
