👍👍👍 my thoughts exactly - won't be doing it to my lenses (or filters). Nor will I be swinging my multi-thousand dollar DSLR around with my belt...

Well who said it was his camera lens... ?? Actually good idea if use on a filter... better yet, use a translucent spray and protect the middle portion of the filter.... put second filter on top of that to protect the sprayed area.
Along those lines, use a plastic crackle from that kitchen drop down lighting...
Clever, and his lens won't get chapped.
There is one that I ran into a long time ago that for a lens that some how got gunk on it that doesn"t want to clean up easily try ponds cold cream. It does work and I have tried it on a couple used cameras I got at a camera flea market.
