William,
Very nice, Rule of Thirds, great exposure on the light bulbs (not blown out), very sharp for low light, I might have added a little fill flash, but just a little bit, too much would spoil the shot. You might try bringing up the midtones only just a touch in PP.
All in all, well done!

I am a newbie and have always failed at those types of shots, got some pointers for those of us with less knowledge

Patience is a virtue, I've had threads here and elsewhere that took a while to take off.

The Little Woo (my wife) fixed up a nice pork stir fry for my dinner, what did you have?
Here is what is what I did in PS Elements 2.0. I just cropped it a little, brought up the midtones in Levels, and then sharpened it a little with FocusMagic. A larger file size would yield much better results.
Let me know what you think,

I'm looking at at a 10 hour day on Friday, an antique tractor pull in Asheville NC on Saturday. and then another 10 hour day on Sunday.
At least I'll have Mon -Thur to rest next week, and post here at UH!
