I use 500px.com. It might suit your needs. Nobody has to sign up for anything, so far as I know.

Hi, wanting to share the soccer pics i take of daughters team with the parents. When i share from my Western Digital Mybook live they get a file of icon thumbnails but cannot see the pictures. Meaning the parents would have to click each picture open to see if it is their kid. Also, shutterfly, kodak, sites make the parents have to sign up to download the pics. I just want to share multiple weekend game shots with multiple people. But rather than spend lots of time and some money making CD's for the parents. Does anyone here at UHH know of a good way to share pictures from several soccer games consisting of 40-80 pics per game with team parents so they can actually see the pics when email / file is received and click thru quickly till they find their child. etc.
Let me know please and thank you.
Evan

Dan, just looked at your portfolio. Very nice photos, but more important a great looking site. I have used Dropbox for about six or seven years especially for soccer, ham radio field day, curling bonspiels, and family photos. Works great, but now I will look into the Creative Cloud space.

Dan, what size jpegs are you photos on this site. I understand that one has 20 gb available with a regular subscription.

I shoot hockey pics of my nephews team each weekend. I actually shoot for his former team also. I started a Facebook page for each team and post the afternoon of the games. I know you may be concerned about quality of your images, but believe me, the parents love it. They forward the page information to grandparents who live out of state, friends and other family members who aren't able to attend games. The pages are so popular among the players and family because they are extremely easy to access... and really, isn't easing access to the families the purpose?

I outputted the pics from Lightroom, 72 pixels/inch, 1,200 pixels on the long side. At those settings, they're not very big, but look good on screen. They also are too small to be useful to intellectual property thieves. The Adobe site also prevents right-click copying, a useful thing.

By the way, Bud, my dad was W8ZCQ, a Silent Key for about 10 years, sadly.

STAY AWAY FROM FLICKR!!! Flickr is great until you have a problem. If you cannot get it figured out by going through their various online "Help" solutions, there is no one who will help. I was pleased with my page until one day I discovered that it was no longer responsive to me! Basically, it did not recognize me as its owner/creator. When I would click on "You" it would instead direct me to an older page that I had started a long time ago and abandoned because I was having trouble getting started. Looking at the "Community Forum" was informative - discovered there were dozens of people with similar problems, and no one to help. I cannot even delete my main page because it won't recognize me!

I even tried the only way I could think of that might get to a real person - I reported it as "Abuse"!!! (My page had been hijacked, so technically it was abuse that I could not get it back.) Not only was I told that this was not the right place to go, I was directed to all the methods I had already tried and did not work, which I had mentioned in my emails. My response to this was also given the brush-off, so after waiting a while, I wrote again, asking that my question be referred to someone who could help. What I got next was an email stating that this case had been closed as it was considered completed... Quite rude treatment. So I say Flickr is a nice package until it isn't - then they don't want anything to do with you. STAY AWAY FROM FLICKR!!!

Because of this, I am abandoning my Flickr pages and moving to 500px. There are real people who answer questions by email. The pages are secure. Perhaps one day some of mine will also get sold in their Marketplace! In the meantime I have a place to display my images and a web address to give people. Their system lets me organize my images into "Galleries" for easier viewing. The only drawback to the free account is uploading pictures to it is limited to 20 pictures per week, so it takes time to re-build my collection. But once finished, it will be easy since I will only be uploading the best of anything I have taken recently.

There are a lot of good sites to choose from, so even though others might be satisfied, I won't ever go again to a site that treats people like that.

Thanks for the info on size. I will do the same and put in select shots from some of my travel and vacation photos.
Sorry to hear about your dad. I will look through my logs to see if I ever worked him. I've been a ham since 1964.

I have been doing similar posting on one of my Shutterfly sites for years. The parents, kids, grandparents, ... love it. All I do is keep a distribution list in my email and copy and paste the link to the specific album of the current game. It works seamlessly and very easy. I am not limited to file size for uploading, but I do resize for faster uploads to Shutterfly. The slide show and features on Shutterfly are excellent for viewing. My images are protected from downloading per my privacy settings.
Here is a link to the albums: http://sportimagesbymarkweiss.shutterfly.com/pictures

I'm no fan of Yahoo. But there are thousands of Flickr users that have had no negative issues with it. You can make separate albums, galleries, etc. And it's free. I've had my Flickr account since 2005. No problems.

If you are looking for a hosting site to sell from, check out Fine Art America, Zenfolio, Smugmug, etc.

If you go to Flickr's Community Forums, and look up the type of issue I had, you will find many messages from others begging for help. I tried that, too. But there is no one who will answer! Like I said in my last post, it is a great site until something goes wrong that you cannot fix yourself. You have not had problems yet, which is good. I didn't have any problems either until now! But be sure you have the same photos stored at home. I cannot add, delete, or edit anything on the page I built.

Lots of choices and options given so far, but just wanted to add a little sidenote. I use Flickr but also have a "web based viewer" called Flickriver....that is a site that utilizes your stored images on Flickr but allows a different type of viewing perspective. Check out my page (http://www.flickriver.com/photos/mjc55ny/ ) just to see what I mean....whatever I post on Flickr shows up automatically on this other page in a simpler layout. Just another option to add to your choice selection. Good luck....
