Affinity does not have cataloging. I use the Affinity tools as extensions in Photos for OS (MAC) and use Photos cataloging. If you are using a Windows machine I can't help you. Maybe someone else can.

Affinity was discussed in a recent posting -- do a search to check it out. And, Affinity has just announced a Windows version at a discount -- check out their website for details.

It is now available on Windows. Tried it out as a beta, pretty good. They are doing a special offer $39 according to an email I had today and no monthly charges!!!!

It has a bit of a learning curve, but they have very good tutorials on their web site.

Affinity is a pretty powerful program. My only complaint is that it will not convert my raw files from the 5d mark 2. I usually shoot using s-raw.

I just bought it and will be using it as a plugin to Lightroom. They have an extensive series of tutorial videos. I've watched the first couple in the series and they are well done, short and to the point.

Just purchased & installed yesterday. I have not yet had an opportunity to explore. No catalogue.

I've just started using Affinity. I really like it. Some of the functions are actually better than PS. I appreciate the consistent use of layers. The infill brush does a better job than the PS options. I had a good picture of the Campanella of Pisa (The Leaning Tower of Pisa). It had a lot of tourists and signs around the base. I was able to remove them and do it easier than with PS.

I was only disappointed in two ways. My Sony a6300 RAW images weren't recognized. Of course that may be my fault;I may have missed something. Also, I use Bridge to keep track of my images. I still haven't decided what to replace that with. Freestone is my tentative choice. But I have asked Affinity for advice.

Affinity has been popular on the Mac for some time.

I also own Corel PSP and like it, but Affinity seems easier to transition from PS.

for a program I really like Affinity's raw converter isn't great I find it is quite noisy. So what to do for RAW.
Well I have lightroom and i find that quite excellent for raw conversion and then it will hand over to Affinity Photo for finishing

If Affinity doesn't have raw support for your camera then 1 option would be to use adobe's free dng converter, this would solve that issue, but then
the conversion from DNG may not be great either.

This handy link will introduce you to DXO's optics pro 9 elite. DXO has extensive lens corrections and can do better than Lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw. there are download links for windows and OSX you need to register with DXO in order to get a free license.

I really do recommend this for any and everybody, especially at the price!

Keep affinity for what it is good at pixel based editing.

I am a relatively new user of Affinity, and the more I use it the better I like it. Tutorials are straightforward and easy to learn from. It offers a separate persona for RAW processing.
