Looking for a compact shoulder bag not a behemoth if possible. Equipment I wish to carry: Nikon D750 with 70-200mm lens attached; one more DSLR body with 24-70mm lens attached; one 11-16 lens. Extra battery, charger, memory card and cleaning kit.

You're welcome......I have used this on several photo walks in conjunction with my Black Rapid sling strap. It does a good job of staying out of the way while providing plenty of room for camera, lens, water bottle and other stuff. It zips tight on one end to stay fairly compact, or you can unzip it and expand to carry more stuff if needed....good luck!!

I'd suggest a messenger bag over that sling bag. Maybe something like this... Only issue would be a 2nd body....

I use this one...

I bought 2 of these in the last 3 years. If you can live with the blue or red color you can save a bundle. Easily holds 2 bodies with lenses attached, extra lens and accessories. Has 2 adjustable partitions inside the bag. Lots of pockets and shoulder strap. Removable plastic rain cover. If you look at the red one it has detailed pics. I bought the blue and the olive when they were both 19.99.

I don't believe this will hold the camera with the 70-200 attached. If I'm mistaken, please correct me as I'm looking for exactly the same thing. I bought the larger Lowepro Slingshot edge 250AW, and while a nice sling will not hold a full sized DSLR with the 70-200 attached. Their largest sling, the 302AW will, but it's the size of a backpack.

Are the extra items - 11-16mm lens, battery, charger, memory card, cleaning kit - shared between the two cameras? It seems to me that anything capable of holding all that stuff would be a behemoth in my eyes, so if that were my stuff I'd look for a way to separate it into two separate kits.

The Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home will hold that kit. I use the 6 MDH, and I can squeeze a D750 with 70-200 f/2.8, D7100 with 24-120 f4, and 16-75, but with lens hoods off and it won't close (the D750 and 70-200 are too long). The 7 MDH will hold your kit just fine. But it's a big bag; I prefer the 6 MDH and just take the lens off when I put it in the bag.

And I actually prefer a backpack if I've got that much stuff, because I can carry the cameras on slings and the bag doesn't get in the way. Not as quick to change lenses, but I usually don't change lenses often when I'm shooting with two cameras...that's kind of the point?

Here's a comparison article:

Hi

You will find it hard to beat a Billingham bag of some description . They are water proof , very heard wearing but best of all for me is the way they sit when on the shoulder . Somehow they sit behind you and weight is not a problem. I believe that the origin of these bags was as hunting bags where you would store your bow and arrows, you dont want the bag etc to get in the way when you are using the bow , might accidentally shoot your mother in law. Vast range of sizes andesigns , I've had other big name makes and sold them all , none quite as good as a Billingham , but its personal choice of course.

I just received the Peak Design Sling bag late last week via their kick starter campaign. Inside I keep a Nikon D500 with a 10-24mm lens, a 18-300 superzoom, circular polarizing filter and UV filters for when needed, Manfrotto Pixie tripod, extra battery, a few small random things, a complete cleaning kit, extra QXD and SD cards and a quick reference card and my iPad mini. I also have a QXD card reader and USB cable tucked away nicely inside in addition to the lens hoods for both lenses. I could put an extra body or my 35mm and 18-80 mm lens in the space I have the pixie tripod as that space has extra room. The bag has straps on the bottom to attach a larger tripod, an expandable front pouch. I think the sleeve I keep the iPad mini in can hold a 13inch MacBook Pro?

The bags features are amazing. So much so that I'm going to sell my others bag. The bag is water resistant with water proof zippers. It also has anti-theft zipper-pulls and a place to attach a mount to clip your camera on via a Arca style plate. I've used it a few times wandering Chicago already and it's the most comfortable bag and doesn't scream, I'm a camera bag. It's a bit pricey so I'm glad I joined the kick starter campaign for the discount. This bag should fit your needs. Here's a link:

I also recommend a Billingham bag, very versatile and rugged without shouting camera bag.
