I missed all the signs.......
We need more of these and they need to be shown often!!!!!!

Just don't blame the gun; blame the fruitcake behind it instead.
Lately we seem to have been missing the signs of knife violence. Maybe it's not the gun or the knife, but the violence itself. Should we try and fix the problem and not the symptom?
No gun ever killed anyone without someone causing it to go off--it's always the shooter's responsibility.
I live about 15 miles from Isla Vista and in in the 1970's was a deputy sheriff in the area. Your link and your short commentary bring up gun violence but neither you nor the link mention the killer killed his 3 roommates by STABBING them to death. Then he went on a shooting spree. The murderer had openly displayed signs of violence to everyone around him including his parents. But nobody wanted to do anything about it. Just think if only one person really did something about those signs. His parents called the sheriff's office asking for a welfare check. Basically deputies knock on the door and ask if the person is OK. He was. But the parents failed to mention they were worried he might turn violent so the deputies, while thinking he was a bit weird, didn't look further or ask to go into the apartment. Believe me there is lots of blame to go around.
