Okay I finally made it back here to introduce myself. Hey…and how are you today?!
Hello everyone Hey…and how are you today?…
My first zeal for photography began back in the late 60s.(Whoops, I'm telling my age)
I began to notice everyone's enthusiasm during Family events when some members would get together and Talk about how beautiful, how nice, how great particular Photographs were. Yes, me, always a critic, would say to myself, Even sometimes openly, "that's not such a great shot, I can't see any details, the eyes look like a black spot." I also noticed, how when the shooter got ready to shoots, their first action was to back up. It was then that I realize that close-ups will render what I was expecting. So in an effort to create better photographs, Pictures they were called at that time :-), I went out and got myself a Polaroid Squareshooter 2.
The very first picture I shot was a portrait of myself. Unfortunately I can only wish that I'd have that picture today. The rest is history.
Fast forward 1983, I decided to go Pro, No pun intended. I said I decided... I never made it there. Oh, I have managed a few portraits shoots for small fees for family (if a family member wanted a professional shoot, yes of course I charge them. Although they never paid me) and Photo shoots for friends and their families. I have a few wedding for fees under my belt. My excuse. I understand that there is no excuse. Due to family circumstances and my lack of confidence in myself to achieve higher goals, I never quite made it to the big-times.
Now, here I stand again. I've made some investments in some professional equipments cameras and studio equipment lightings and accessories. Today I'm confident that I am a professional photographer. I just have to get out there and present myself to the world. Win some lose some! Employing thousands of my best efforts to achieve my goals.
I'm optimistic for us all here in this forum. Thank you for having me,
Kind regards,

Hello everyone Hey…and how are you today?… br br ... (
show quote)
Welcome to the UHH. Good luck with making money as a "pro". Chilly, damp, gloomy so I am cleaning the family room and goofing off on the computer editing pictures, reading and posting.
Welcome to UHH Sir, glad you joined us. Something I would like to do also, but, alas, not in the cards.

Welcome. Your story is a lot like mine and many others here - started in the sixties, fell away, coming back - except I have no expectation or desire to earn a single $ out of photography. I don't want a second job, I just want a hobby. But good luck with your endevours. You will find many true professionals willing to offer their advice.
Welcome to the HOG.
Enjoy.
Best wishes with your venture.
