Nisi v5 filter holder

I just received the Nisi v5 Filter holder from Amazon. Filters just won't smoothly insert into the holder. It takes pretty good force with two hands to get the filter in, and to fine tune to the horizon is near impossible. Before I return it to Amazon I was wondering if any of you have had the same problem and is there any solution. The Holder is very well made and all about it makes me want to keep it, but from a practical view it just is not user friendly. Any advice will be very welcomed. Zing444

Thanks Geoff. Do you use the Lee filters with the Nisi holder or the Lee holder. Don

I use that same type of filter...I've purchase all my filters from a company in New Hampshire called the "Filter Connection". They carry all the major brands....I spoke with the owner several years back and got an education on filters in a twenty minute phone call that have been more helpful than all my years of photography. Here is a link to their site... http://www.2filter.com/
I think the owner's name is John, but all the of the sales force is very knowledgeable and helpful...when I change lens from a 72mm to a 77mm I was prepared to buy an entire new holder....the sale woman said oh know, just buy a new adapter ring for $20...she could have easily sold me a whole new holder but was honest enough to tell me what I needed. Great customer service.

You might want to check this brand out. I has good ratings but I personally have not used it myself. It is metal not plastic like the Lee.

I'm thinking of this setup myself. I like the idea that not only the holder is metal but the ring adaptors are also metal.

Looks like they carry the Nisi brand as well. I'd call them for info then.

I use all Lee equipment inc. the holder. I did use other filter systems in the past bit Le offers so much more and total clarity.

I have the NISI holder and filters and encountered the same problem. I solved it by decreasing the tension by turning the small screws that hold the separations together. Try it and I think you will find the problem will be solved. Let us know.

I HAVE THE NISI FILTER HOLDER AND RAN INTO THE SAME PROBLEM. AFTER CALLING THEM AND RECEIVING NO SOLUTION I TOOK A SCREW DRIVE TO THE SCREWS THAT HOLD THE HOLDER TOGETHER. AFTER PUTTING IN A FILTER I CAREFULLY LOOSENED ALL THE SCREWS VERY CAREFULLY SO THAT THE FILTER SLID EASIER. TRY IT - IT WORKS.
