I was visiting my daughter (recently moved to the Indianapolis area) and had a little over half a day on my own. With this time I scouted the local parks for photo ops and found this park's website and decided to spend the afternoon there. As you can tell from the photos, I was there well past prime foliage season, but saw enough that I definitely want to get back there when the leaves are in their prime fall foliage. This is a really nice park with lots of trails, water features, and quite a few spots to pull off the road for photo ops without too much hiking (for the less healthy). I was there on a weekday with school in session and I found the park to be very lightly used so I pretty much had little to no trouble getting to photogenic spots. It would have been a great visual experience, even without a camera, but I'm glad I took mine with me. There is a fee to enter the park, but I found it well worth the price of admission.
Glad you enjoyed our city, there are many more sites in the park, our local Indianapolis Camera Club, has held many shoots out there.
Thanks for posting the pictures, enjoy seeing them.
Beautiful photos and it appears that your extra special day paid off handsomely. I especially like your photo # 4 since we often see reflections in the water, but this photo looks like the water may have been a little rough and the reflection looks very abstract.

Great shots of a beautiful park Calli, thanks for sharing. Looks as though you made the best of your time to yourself.
Thanks for the reminders of this beautiful area. Eagle Creek Park was my deceased brother's favorite place to shoot, and he had many, many, beautiful photographs taken there and shown around the state and at his home club, the Riveria Camera Club in Indianapolis. I appreciate your posting these photographs to remind me once again of my brother's excellent work. I'll never be as good a photographer as he was, but I try.
These are really beautiful images, calliwa! The colors may not have been at their prime, but you got some beautiful colors!
