Hello everyone. Have finally made the move to a DSLR, from Point & Shoot digital cameras. Had shot a lot of Film with my Canon EOS Elan IIe with the Eye Control Auto Focus. So, am a little familiar with some of the rules of Photography, but realized that a lot of things have changed with the switch to DSLR. Seem to get much better pictures, and seems somewhat easier to get the shots that I would like to keep. I am starting out with a Canon EOSM3 18-55, and the 55-200 lens. Am just trying to get used to the camera itself, and all of the settings involved, and how best to process the photos after taken. Have enjoyed reading a lot of the postings all ready, and have gained some good information for future use. Will apologize to Admin if I have put anything in here that I should not have, and am looking forward to reading more of the posts and gaining even more information.

Thanks Everyone!
Greys.

Welcome.
Today's gear allows all the experimentation, exploration, familiarization and exploitation you could ask for virtually free.
The basic do not change, the technology permits so much more in terms of processing in camera and in your "digital darkroom" laptop you will be rewarded with magnificent images. The cost is simply the amount of time you desire to perfect your editing skills and a basic editing program, many are free.
I must add, the "spray and pray" philosophy seldom yields adequate results. Good fundamentals will result in high quality wall art.
Keep shooting, post freuently.

Thanks Everyone! Appreciate the Welcome. Am still not used to being able to just snap some pictures of my 1 Greyhound laying on the Leather Sofa in the living room without having to use a Flash. Could have done the same thing with film, but would have had to of made sure a certain speed of film was loaded in the camera. Love the fact that the unit tells me whether I need to use the flash or not. So, am learning. I love photography, and was out of it for Way Too Long!

OH well, will have to read more information and try again later. Think the file might have been too big. So will read up and try again. Thanks everyone. Sissy is the Greyhound I use as my Avatar, so kinda gives you an idea of what you are looking for. Thanks again.

Hi,welcome. My story is much the same I used a point and shoot for several years before recently moving to a DSLR. I am at times overwhelmed by the capabilities of the camera. I have concentrated on using the auto mode and just learning the camera and having fun. Good luck.

OK, will try and post a picture again, want to try and get the hang of this, so bear with me please.

Have to remember and save them at a lower setting that I had the previous ones I had been trying to post. This is Big Guy. He is Male, and currently weighs 92 pounds. He is big for a Greyhound, but still fast, and very lovable. I started out Fostering him, and couldn't let him go. As you can see, he also likes Toys.

Thanks again everyone for all of the welcomes.
