I love this place. I've not been there for several years because shortly after I took these we moved from Kansas to Phoenix and that's just over 13-years ago. In fact I don't know if the old place is still there. I may never find out but I hope you enjoy these.

Who knows how long.

Thank you very much, Jimmya. I certainly enjoyed these and my imagination goes in many directions when I see old, abandoned homes. Very nicely done. I could spend hours walking around old places like this. Thanks for sharing.

To me this is interesting. I was at this old house, a few miles south of our home at the time shooting photos of my grand daughter.
Suddenly a car stopped, pulled in the drive. I asked are you the owner... the guy said no I was hoping you were. I explained that I love coming here because it's so beautiful.

I just came across some more of a couple of other places that you might find interesting. I've got a back story on the barn if you want I'll send it.

Lovely photos, Jimmya, in what seems to be a gorgeous setting. Yes, please do send the story of the barn. I would be very interested.

Okay, the back story of the barn. While living in Kansas I used to go "hunting"... driving around within a few miles looking for likely photo spots. On a dirt road, much like the one pictured here, I spotted this barn by the road side. I immediately turned into the drive. About 50-yards south was a nice looking home. Not being one to just walk on someone's property without permission I approached the house. In just a moment the lady of the home appeared on the front porch asking brightly "can I help you?"

I explained that I wanted to take some shots of the barn. "Oh," she quipped, "that old thing. I've been after my husband to tear it down." I asked please, not before I get a couple of shots.

She said "sure, and by the way, you're just in time to help me clean the house... giggle."

That's typical Kansas. I was actually surprised she didn't invite me in for lunch.

Nice photos. Those old places are full of stories, imagined and true alike. I like to seek out these places, too.

Thanks Angler... I know, wouldn't that be neat - the stories they could tell and teach us.
