Yes, I have a Nikon D3300 24.2 MP camera, although I have not yet enlarged any photos to 8x10 to see how they look, I am sure they would be stunning.

If I couldn't get stunning 8x10's from my 24mp 7100 I'd give up taking pictures.

Just for grins I took many landscape pictures with both my D810 and my Galaxy 6 when I was in Yellowstone/Tetons this Fall. Sadly, my son likes one from the Galaxy better than the 50+ from the "real" camera. Still working in LR to duplicate the colors I see on the Galaxy...sigh. Yep...I am a relatively new at all of this. Wildlife is another matter all together...I had no less than 5 cell phone cameras asked to take a picture of my playback screen of a magnificent Bull Moose in dusk lighting.... I will keep and use both. Love this forum and all that I have learned!

Smarty phone cameras have surely come a long way and I enjoy using mine. As I've mentioned before in other posts, I have a friend who has mastered the art of iphone photography and sells her work. It hangs on the walls of our state capital. Beautiful images.

I've attached a photo I recently took using my iphone with a tiny bit of editing in LR4. I'm pleased with it and look forward to printing this off (waiting for ink) to hang in our office. As a hospice chaplain, I'm beginning to use my iphone to record the images of the hands of our hospice patience.

God Bless you this is great.

I have a 8mp camera Nexus 5 smartphone and I took some landscape images with my phone, then had 2 of them enlarged to 8x10 prints, I was quite impressed with the image quality. Now they offer much higher mp in the newer smartphones, so any enlargements should even be more impressive.

Your Opinions please:____________________________

The phone cameras are excellent for what they are.

I already have a smartphone with a very good camera. My next purchase will be a lens from B&H. For my DSLR.

I remember the days when photographers said digital photography would never be accepted. I remember the days when cable TV was poo-pooed. My grandparents told me how people rejected the automobile, claiming horses were so much more reliable. Times change. Technology improves. I love my Nikon but I also love the versatility and image quality of my smartphone! Each has its limitations but each also has its advantages!

I have enlarged photos from my 8mpx iPhone larger than that, and they look fine. >Alan

I lived in Maine in the 1970s. I worked for an advertising agency, and one of the less imaginative partners maintained that
ATMs were a fad that would never catch on. "Who would want to go to a machine, when they could go to the bank and deal with a live person?"
