The hatred spewing out of that little pea brain of yours is breathtaking. Why don't you take a break and absorb reality for a change.

In 2008, Oprah and Will Smith yelled and screamed and high-fived each other over how amazing the Obama presidency was going to be.

But then, we had a “beer summit” (that was odd). Then, a trillion dollar stimulus package …that turned into a deficit. Then a Tea Party. Then Occupy Wall Street. Then Ferguson, Baltimore, Sandy Hook, San Bernardino, Orlando, Chattanooga, Benghazi and Dallas. Then came Obamacare. And ISIS rose up in the middle east.

Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, David Bowie, Glenn Frey, Merle Haggard and Steve Jobs ALL died during the Obama presidency. Peyton Manning retired. American Idol got cancelled. Tornadoes still ravaged trailer parks in the mid west and hurricanes still chewed up beaches. Several people got eaten by sharks. Brad and Angelina broke up. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian procreated. Smart phones blew up in people’s pockets. We had, like, six hundred Country Music award shows …and Bruce Jenner is now a woman.

Some of that you can blame on President Obama and some of it …you can’t. It shows that presidents can affect a lot. But life is going to suck sometimes, no matter who the guy is in charge.

Speaking of the country …it elected a new president last night. Some people are too happy …and some are too sad. The anger and vitriol we all thought (and prayed) would end, once the ballots were cast, seems to only be ratcheting up. I suppose it’s easy to call for everyone to accept the will of the people when you think your candidate is going to win.

Nevertheless, the thing about presidents elect is you can never really know what you’re about to get. I always chuckle at those press questions in a campaign, “what qualifies you to be president?” The truth is NOTHING qualifies ANYONE for that job. Maybe being a governor of a big state …maybe not. Until they take you in that back room and brief you on how bad it really is, you can’t know how you’re going to govern.

I have no idea what kind of President Mr Trump will be. We can never know these things. But I always give first timers the benefit of the doubt. I would’ve done the same thing for Mrs Clinton. I definitely did for Mr Obama …and it’s in print somewhere.

What I DON’T believe is that we’re about to turn into Nazi Germany (and I’ve read some posts from people who actually believe that). I don’t think we’re going to roll back to the 1950s in our social order. If Donald Trump is anything, he’s as immersed in current pop culture as Miley Cyrus. A man who was a regular guest on Howard Stern isn’t going to be interested in a puritanical revival of any kind. He’s not coming after “the gays” or the “transgender.” To the contrary, when Caitlyn Jenner (formerly the aforementioned Bruce) asked him where she could use the restroom in his hotel, his answer was “use which ever one you feel comfortable in.”

The point is, we might be projecting some of our own irrational fears onto a man who is definitely flawed …but probably not evil incarnate.

The “educated” among us are reminding us how utterly stupid the country is for voting for this man, while simultaneously wringing their hands, melting down emotionally and predicting Armageddon (like …for real). They may be right about it all …but they may be wrong.

I am not moving to Canada. I am not going underground. I refuse to sling insults at people who voted one way or another and become a caricature of a petty, ignorant American. In this country if you run and get the votes …you get to be president. That’s still a good thing …even if you don’t like the result.

For the Hillary supporters …pull yourselves together. Please. Some of you are embarrassing yourselves. For the Trump supporters …some of you are too. A little grace and humility might be in order. You just elected Donald J Trump as your nation’s president …and he was once a part of Wrestle Mania.

Still, I believe in the ability of people to surprise you. And I, for one, am going to give this man some room to prove that.

There are not a lot of choices left.

More accurately... "The Trump Win Has Enflamed the Forces of Hate and Bigotry in America."

One of the best things that happened in this election is that Harry is going. I wish he would have taken Nancy P with him. Speaking of those that hate they top the list.

Nagy: You re calling Dirt a pea brain for citing a news article about Harry Reid's comments. Does that make all the news dirctors who decided to carry the story pea brains?

Nagy: Not being an amazing presidency is a far cry from “beat the hell out of them... punch them in the face... the Second Amendment people will have something to say about that” (whatever political developments trumpists do not like) and from openly calling Mexican immigrants racists, and screaming shrilly about Jihadists taking over the country.

Nagy: Turned into a deficit? All anti-depression stimuli depend on borrowed money. Apparently, while making your deep study of economics, you rejected John Maynard Keynes. He prescribed deficit spending on public works during times of severe economic contraction.

4Uiprnt: Then a Tea Party. Then Occupy Wall Street. Then Ferguson, Baltimore, Sandy Hook, San Bernardino, Orlando, Chattanooga, Benghazi and Dallas. Then came Obamacare. And ISIS rose up in the middle east.

Nagy: After calling Dirt a pea brain, you launch into a disorganized rant whose apparently purpose is merely to list event randomly under the assumption that every thing you list is inarguably an example of Obama failures. You seem to have forgotten that the topic was Trump fomenting hatred. Even so, your list is an incoherent set of wild assumptions in which even the assumptions themselves are not clear.

Tea Party: Apparently, though Dirt is a pea brain, one must actually complete your thoughts for you. Did you mean to say that Obama is responsible for the rise of those most patriotic people who call themselves the Tea Party? To about half the country they are nothing of the sort. Rather, they are white privileged creeps who could not stand the temporary attenuation of the right wing agenda under Obama. All they needed was someone to united them under one leader, which was Trump.

Occupy Wall Street. Once again, you leave your own thesis unstated. It is as if someone mindlessly write, “Josef Stalin,” then drops the mic and walks victoriously off. The best bet is that you have some right wing hatred of such protest groups. I have hatred of people like you. Protesting Wall Street is something that should have been done long ago, mush more persistently, and more intensely.

Ferguson, Baltimore, Sandy Hook, San Bernardino, Orlando, Chattanooga, Benghazi and Dallas. More of the same; a thoughtless reference to events with the arrogant and ignorant assumption that their mere mention could evoke only your own conclusions about them. Did you mean to say that the mass murders are caused by the GOP bocking even minor gun control laws? Do you mean that what weak gun control laws we have are obstructing people's freedom to gun down even more victims? What about Benghazi? Did you mean to say that it was a single deadly attack on an American embassy compared to over a dozen under Bush's watch? Dirt is the alleged pea brain, but you cannot even write text that makes clear what point you are trying to make?

Obamacare. What of it? Did you mean to say you miss the unfailing annual double digit increases in the cost of healthcare that we saw before it?

ISIS. What of that? Obama caused it? Sure, just as the Ayatollah Kohmeini caused the poor relations between Iran and the US. It could not have had anything to do with the CIA overthrow of their democratically elected prime minister Mohammad Mozadegh, or the multi-decade foisting over them of the autocratic Shah Mohammad Reza Pahalvi. And Isis could not possibly have been caused by the instability created in Iraq by the mad Bish conquest of that country.

Nagy: There is no doubt about his being evil. Will his rise to the White House be America's 1933? In the right circumstances, it could be. He clearly indicated that he was not redy top accept the results of the election unless he won. What would he have done if he did not, call on his “Second Amednment people” to correct the results of the election” Hitler came to power by legitimately winning an election. Trump may have been willing to do it by coup d'etat.

Nagy: Not much chance of this being anything other than a monumental disaster for America and the world. He is about to usurp one supreme Court nomination that is not legitimately his to make, as well as up to two others that are likely to come up during his first term. He is targeting Obamacare, the only thing that stood between the US and the double digit increases in the cost of healthcare seen during the presidency of Bush II, environmental protection measures... an unequivocal disaster.
