Hi Folks, just got back from Pensacola Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. For those who don't know, Pensacola Naval Base is home for the Navy's precision flight demonstration team known as "The Blue Angels". My wife and I were on the Pensacola fishing pier just relaxing, taking pictures and hoping for a good sunset. When all of a sudden, I see people pointing north. It's then that I realize it's the Blue Angels and they're going to treat us to a flyby. And what a treat is was...a high speed, low altitude pass...the roar was deafening, but amazing as they passed by. Here is a sequence of photos I shot.
great set of photos. Wish I was there
What I wouldn't give to catch a sequence like that! Big congrats to you for being prepared.

Blue Angels Deserve a New Up to Date Fleet of Jets...They do an Amazing job with the Ancient Fleet they currently Fly...Just Sayin'..!!
You were SO lucky to be there at the right time. Refreshing to see Blue Angel pictures with such an interesting and beautiful sky
behind them, instead of the usual bright blue sky. Great set of pictures.

I know what your sayin'...we had Blue Angels solo #6 crash not more that 2 miles from our house that past July. Of course the pilot was killed. The investigation afterward said he was flying to fast to attempt the maneuver he was doing, he lost control and went into the ground vertically. However, I think something on his aircraft may have broke or failed, that's my opinion.

Great sequence James - I especially like the shot of them disappearing into the sunset. Great reminder of the reason to always keep some kind of camera nearby.

Fabulous! What a treat.
Yes, and it got even better a few days later, we were treated to a full show as they often practice over the Pensacola area.

Thanks, my wife and I were on the pier with cameras hoping for a pretty sunset. I'll take this instead any day.

Great shots James.
Thanks Jim, I saw quite a number of Angler's on the pier fishing. They didn't speak English, so I know it wasn't you.
Right place, right time. Great!
