I wanted to stay with only simple PP tweaks too. Then reality whacked me up along side the head! I am gradually learning more and more PP.

What program do you use? I like sitting in the easy chair with my iPad vs at a desk using the mac. It sure sounds like I'm lazy doesn't it!

I wanted to get this right in camera as I don't do any complicated post processing. But it was difficult to evaluate in camera so I may need to go back. I learned that painting the waterfall with a flashlight evenly wasn't the ticket since some of it was farther away and there were some rocks that were more reflective. Any suggestions?

On my laptop I have Light Room 6 stand alone version and a few plugins, plus PSE Elements13 w/elements+. but 99% of the time my wife has the laptop
On my desktop (an intel i7 gamer from IBuyPower and I don't do games) I have plenty of room on the 240 SSD for programs and 2 data drives, one just for photos and music so it has CC 2015 plus numerous plugins, NIK suit, PSE 13+ and PSE 14 which don't get used much as I transition to CC 2015, several minor free samples like ON1 and Perfectly Clear that I really should delete except for their plugins connected to the CC2015, Corel's Paint Shot Pro X8 in 32 & 64 bit with some plugins and bundled goodies (I have been using Corel products since the 90s, got into Adobe 2+ years ago), Corel AfterShot 2 (their answer to LR, got it free, haven't learned it yet), Franzis Projects suite for some of it's specialty stuff.
Over half of that stuff I could delete, since I almost never use it anymore.
80-90% of all my editing is the CC2015 version of LR with NIK plugins and some others plus an assist from CC 2015 Photo Shop for about 10-15% of shots I process.

If I had to, I could do 95+% of everything with just Light Room and the NIK plug-ins. You might consider a laptop for use in that lounge chair, I know some people edit on a tablet, but I fail to see how, for one thing my eyes want at least 15" of screen and at times my desktop 27" graphics monitor seems too small.

If I had the RAW to work with I could do better, and others on here could do much better.
Here are two tries I made at your posted image.
#1 in LR
#2 in Photo Shop with use of NIK viveza and Franzis Projects Pro DeNoise.

I would really recommend you start learning Post Processing. A good starting point might be Photo Shop Elements 14 or 15, they will use most of the plugins that LR and Photo Shop can and they have "guided" wizard type modes that will take you through things in steps. A lot of people never even bother going further than PSE and do very well.

I live in KS where it is presently 84*. Golf weather. Maybe when the days get too cold to be outside I will give it a try! Thanks for the info, encouragement and help with samples. I do see that I could really improve my final results.
