I've had it for over a month now, but have not really taken the opportunity to shoot. So, today I took it to the beach and gave it a little workout. Still not familiar with all its features or even completing reading the manual. Here are a few beach scene shots. They were shot in either Program or Auto mode. I feel they are acceptable and I'm pleased with it's ability to capture decent images. I'll learn more as I continue to use it. I bought it to have an easy option, other than carrying 40 lbs. of equipment in my backpack. I feel it will be a viable option and will save my back a little when traveling.

Thanks for looking in.

Mark

I remembered when you posted your purchase of this camera and got a good deal for about $350, barely used. I have a Bridge Nikon L840, no viewfinder, that is a backup to my DSLR. I'm seriously thinking about selling it to get a Canon SX60. A focal length of 1355mm is only exceeded by Nikon's P900, 2000mm. Great shots too.

Spot on Mark. I had the SX50 (it died on me, and you can't buy new now) and it was a super camera, I wish I had gone for the SX60 instead of the sony I have now!!

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll be happy with it. It's hard giving up shooting with the 7D MII and 5D MIII, but the convenience is well worth the purchase.

Yes, I think I found an excellent deal for the SX60. I'm very pleased with results, so far.

Whew!! When I read your title, I was thinking you dropped your camera in the water. Thankfully, you meant a different kind of baptism.
Anyway, you'll grow to love your new camera, especially the zoom.

Love my sx60. Find a spider making a web, take 10 or so shots in hybred mode, watch the vid, out of this world.
