I wondered if anyone would post pics of the Dead Horse (Crystal) Mill. You did it justice. Very beautiful area and you hit the colors just at the right time. Well done.

Roughly a week ago my son and I took a day trip to Marble, CO. and the Crystal Mill. The colors were changing and we had a fresh coat of light snow on the peaks. As always, the fall colors are hard to describe. D7200 w/ 18-300. (Still learning how much this camera can accomplish.) These are my first posts, have patience.

Beautiful fall series stinger, welcome to UHH!

Thanks Bill,
We don't always get so lucky, do we? I was going to label the photos as Dead Horse Mill but was hesitant because no one would recognize the name.

When you get a chance at another pic like the mill (high contrast), try "HDR" and see if the back snowy area keeps from washing out and will deepen the water color. With that you will need to use a tripod. Most people never get the chance at the wonderful photo possibilities we in Colo take for granted. Read and read. Your camera is an amazing tool but you need to read and learn all of it's hidden capabilities. Soon you will be adjusting your white balance and active D lighting, changing exposure compensations, and going that next step up to great results. And when you post, allow us to download your high quality photos. I would love to download the mill pics and see the EXIF data.

Bill, Thanks for the insight. I have much to learn and the learning curve is steep. I've attached a couple of photos w/ download, I hope.
