That is awesome, 80 feet sounds pretty cool to me. What do you do when it rains? Do you have a tunnel you put it in? I would like to do something like this in the back yard. Have to look this up and see what it would cost. :)
Erv
No, no tunnel. Even though they are supposed to be rain proof for the most part, I do not take any chances. Besides, If I had all my cars on at one time, my tunnel would have to be about 25ft. long. I am thinking of about making a 6ft. one out of rock for ambiance.

I wish you lived closer. I have a bunch of slate that would be awesome for making a tunnel.

Oh, crap! Don't tease me like that. Lol. We have a lot of that golden brown rock around here. There is a curve that I would like to put the tunnel at. Normally, this is a no-no. But in this case, this particular curve accumulates a lot of debris because of its' location. It is a real pain to get to. By the way, they sell snow plow units for real snow removal. I do run it in the winter.

Tom, you have a really neat setup there. The little kid in me just came to the surface. Thanks for posting.

Never mind. I just started looking through other comments and answered my own question. I used to have an "N" guage set-up. I love the G scale, but you have to have the room. Great action shots!

Thanks for looking. In that particular area, I had just enough room. You ought to see some peoples' G scale layouts. They will blow your mind! And pocket book. Look some up on YouTube.

Thanks. You brought me back to one of my childhood loves. I lust after the Z scale trains, because they allow a person to cram more railroad into smaller amounts of space. I keep hoping someone will soon make a model of the Union Pacific Big Boy locomotive.

That would be a trick! I can not believe how much is available in Z scale. So, who knows?

Nice photos plus you have gone to a lot of work on the trains!
