Work shop fare...
Google "frequency separation" to improve blotchy skin- don't take it too far or it will look plastic. Under lights, sub surface details can show up- even though your eye doesn't see them at the time or are bothered by them. Someone looking new a it, they can draw their eye to this, where you have gone "nose" blind to these sorts of details. Your title suggests a workshop where I assume people are taking turns and thus have someone tapping their toe waiting for you to finish... . But always critically look at everything closely. All around- not just the center of focus... hard to do in a pressure situation or through a viewfinder or preview screen I know. But zoom in and go to every side- no skipping! The folds of fabric on floor are hiding her foot a touch that ruins the otherwise complete illusion of a silhouetted figure. Or light the floor, and make it part of the final image. I might might soften the left light and put a dim rim light behind her on same side- get that hair to ignite a touch... leaving the nice graduation on her left... But this is nitpicking.
Otherwise- everything else is lookin real good. She's an 11-1/2!
Thank you RichieC..very insightful and very welcome critique. I am only a hobbyist "tog" but it sounds like you have been around this block many times. I appreciate your comments. Frequency separation is a familiar term and I have seen it demonstrated but for now it's only a bucket list item on my steep learning curve in editing..Actually if you were to see this whole set I think you might agree with me the biggest problem was that it was woefully underexposed but fortunately I do know enough to shoot JPEG and RAW and I was able to make a partial recovery from the RAW......Thanks again dude....
She has that spunky look that makes it fun to photograph her. I wish I had my camera and was there.
