I agree with you... I can't believe someone would actually inscribe that image onto themselves for the rest of time! It's self-defacing and plain crazy.

This is how a rational person with good reason would think.

But what if something traumatized you so bad that it became difficult to function in simple everyday life?

I believe that her being able to see that Tattoo every day can be very important therapy in leaving the past in the past and moving on.

Generally speaking, I would say that to the casual observer, these would seem to be pretty fucked up tattoos in that they are nonsensical. However, as you pointed out, they have a special meaning to the owner; which I think is the case almost 100% of the time. It does not matter what I think. For example; in my opinion, the one on her thigh looks pretty stupid. This is just me. I do notice that it is a quality piece of work from a technical standpoint. Am I being judgemental of her as a person? Not one bit! It is the same thing as in one's choice of an automobile. I think that the Toyota Prius is a stupid looking automobile, but I do know that it well engineered. Just because I don't think much of that particular model does not mean that the owners of these cars are stupid. One can not make that assumption. It is the same thing with tattoos. I would wager that she is probably a very cool person.

Hi Tom, I've been out in developing economy countries where reliable access to the Internet is mostly a future dream, and busy trying to build an empire (working - in other words) so I haven't seen your photography developed in the last few months, which I'm sure it has. But I see that you're still the same brutally honest guy you were before I left, which is refreshing in some ways, just don't ever consider running for public office 😳😐😬😄

I think it becomes a part of her daily, present-tense life and serves as a cage that she now has to dwell in. Poor girl!

I agree with you. However I think that she is afraid that she will one day forget about a moment that caused her much pain.

I don't suspect that the tattoo on her thigh is for the public to understand at all. My opinion is that it's a reminder for her.

She opened her heart to someone that seemed to be innocent and harmless. "The birds" Her trust allowed this person to get inside. Then this person hurt her with that trust in the most vulnerable and hideous way. "The wounds on her face and heart" She is quite particular of her appearance."The necklace and hairdo".

I don't believe this pain was from a lover or even a friend. I think that it was from someone very close. A father, a mother, a brother or sister. Maybe an uncle. "The tree branches from within her"

I think that she wants to be reminded to never let that happen again because the pain and humiliation was unbearable. She can't tell anybody, so the tattoo is her release.
I agree with you. However I think that she is afra... (show quote)
Yeah, but don't you think that there are better ways to express one's feelings? If that is the way one wishes to do so, that is fine by me. It is not for me to judge.

Hello, Jon. Glad you're back. Yeah, I can be a little abrupt at times, but no way will I ever be insulting. I was simply expressing my own opinion. I want to make it clear that I am not being judgemental. Big difference! If this is what she wanted to do as a way of expressing herself, then I am all for it. It may not be my cup of tea, but I will support a person's right to do so.

Yes, I bet that is exactly what is now happening.

However at the time with her altered state of mind I would imagine that she was under the impression that she will be thinking of it every day for the rest of her life anyway.

I wonder, if she waited about two years later, if she would still have wanted that identical tat...

Good point... and I bet not. That tat is just so garish and radical, not to mention huge!

I tell the girls, "Tattoos violate your precious skin." They say, "It's my body."

I prefer unmarked, smooth female skin.

I sorry but I think tattoo's take a way from the natural beauty of a girl. I have to give this one two thumbs down.
