Colorado fall colors, just before last night's snow.
My wife and I did a fall aspen color tour Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We went over Kenosha, Weston, Tennessee, Shrine, Vail, Boreas and Guanella Passes. As our luck would have it, the weather changed to total overcast plus lots of smoke from area forest fires. We finally saw a little sun on Thursday afternoon. We were very lucky to hit the change of colors for it snowed all along the Continental Divide last night (Friday). This was my wife's first real test of photographing anything other than point and shoot. She just bought a D3300 with an 18-140 lens f4.5-5.6. My camera is a D750 with a 24-120 f4. We did not use any other filters or lenses. Lighting was a big challenge due to the thickness variation of fast moving clouds and haze. All were handheld, tripod was left on the kitchen table (duh). Critics welcome, all types.

Very, very nice and I love the road shots!
Downloading really brings these to life. Well done, enjoyable set.
Thanks for the kind comments. We are very lucky to live in an area that has so many and varied beautiful places that make my ability to photograph seem much better than they really are. And being retired allows us to travel during the week so we miss the weekend hoards.

Bill, love your shots and yes, you were smart to get out before the snow. I really like you shot of Boreas Pass, we have a time share in Breck, but have never been totally over the pass.
Gorgeous fall foliages Of the high Mt passes !!! Thank you for sharing. Shang

Nice, no, VERY NICE photos. Wonderful color. Beautifully artistic shots! Now, can you do it all again with the snow? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for the kind words. Tune in tomorrow! Just kidding and yes I got a couple snow and aspen shots will post as soon as I decide which ones.
Roder, shangyrhee and cjc, thanks for the comments and hope I can be successful with the snow. The aspens were so helpful in creating great colors that it actually made me almost useless except to point the camera and shoot. For once nature made the photo op easy, little skill involved. But I am trying harder to compose without cropping too much and this time it worked. Again, thanks to all for your positive comments.
