This lake is outside of Bishop, CA at the crest of the Sierra Nevadas. On the other side of the ridge is Lake Edison. Taken with Nikon D7100 F/22 @ 1/50 sec ISO-200.
This will forever be known as Lee Filter Holder Lake, as my filter holder decided to take a suicidal jump off my lens and into the lake. It is forever swimming with the fishes.

Nice shot, vibrant color. I think maybe a little more blue sky and a little less shadow in the fore ground could improve an already pleasing capture. Also noticed sensor dust spots in the blue sky, they are always evident when shooting at f22.

It was sliding down the 100' face of the dam at the time.

The blue sky, while dramatic in that wonderful high altitude light, added nothing to the picture. Now, if there were clouds, yes, but just an expanse of blue, no. Carve the Elephant, see the light.

Fished there many times when the kids were growing up so I really appreciate this photo. My captures of Sabrina are all on 35mm slides. Very good photo and I agree with you regarding the cloudless sky...the lake is central to the photo.

Beautiful. love the reflections. I know how you feel, 40 years ago while changing the film in my 1936 Leica it fell into a rushing mountain creek on a hiking trip in British Columbia, gone forever.

This is not Lake Sabrina. Lake Sabrina is higher-up the mountain, and has a more majestic background. This picture is more likely North Lake.

I know that lake. The water is definitely colder than 50 degrees. :-)

Thanks. The Orginizers have promised of the water level drops next summer, it should "be real easy" to recover the filter holder for me. Yeah.

Tim, you are correct, and I apologize for the error. It is North Lake, Sabrina was even more dramatic. Panorama to be posted soon. The $168 filter holder did slide down the dam face though......
