Perhaps not my usual quality but a photo I like non-the-less. In mythology Orion is the Hunter and there is a constellation named for him that shows in the southern sky. On a recent trip to Arkansas I canupon these elk on a ridge just past sunset. I noticed the the constellation Orion could be seen just above these elk (well you can clearly see his sword and belt--the three bright stars in a row with three more forming his belt below the others). Since it was not quite dark I was able to pull this shot by using a ISO of 800 and a shutter of 1 second at f2.8. Not a compelling shot, but something I enjoy.
A great photo and at just the right time of the year. You have put it down perfectly in my opinion. Hopefully come this November I will see one of their brethren to have meat for the winter for my family and other families as well.

Thanks Dennis. Good luck on your hunt---Maybe Orion will guide you. Thanks for looking.
Lovely photo. Great explanation of the composition. Thanks for letting me see your work.
Thank you Flyerace. I generally hate to explain a photo as I believe it should stand on its own merit. But this one needed to be explained if you don't know the constellation. Thanks for looking.
I absolutely love this. The silhouette is stunning. I love the touch of pink in the sky and I think it is amazing that your were able to get Orion so distinct. You have several very appealing element in one well orchestrated shot.
