This is a clever idea for self-driving cars. It smiles at pedestrians to let them know it's safe to cross.

Guess you best not walk in front of it if it frowns

A clever owner could hack the system and get all sorts of funny faces.

Hilary will make law that they will be the only thing available in 8 years, because she know it will save 30,000 life/year. Ford wants to own all of them and rent you what you want on an hourly bases.

Jerry, good job getting "clever idea" and "self-driving cars" in the same sentence. I haven't been able to put the two concepts together.

I call BS on the "statistic" that 80% of pedestrians try to make eye contact with a driver. As long as we're making up "statistics," here's mine: 80% of pedestrians have their nose buried in a cell phone and are oblivious to streets, cars, and drivers. A smiling car is a stupid use of technology. A better use would be to have the car make all cell phones within a 50 foot radius honk at max volume to wake up their idiot users.

When I'm walking or driving, I like to make eye contact with the driver, but that's impossible when they have tinted front windows.
