Finally getting around to PP on some photos from a year ago. Processed in Lr/Nik/Ps. Not crazy about the horizon line (base of trees) right across the middle, but including more foreground would have added a fence and changed the feeling of "wild and free," and with no clouds, there was little point in adding more sky.

Comments and critiques welcome. Many thanks for looking!

Wowsa, I love this image, cabunit! No problem at all re the tree line for me because the visual weight is all in the top: those massive, jagged peaks. The one white horse adds so much interest and you've captured a mood of open spaces and wilderness beauty.

For UHH, you might consider brightening a bit as the photo seems overly dark and I want to drink in all the marvelous details, textures and the light.

RULES! Made to be broken. Nicely in this case. The image balances well. I like that it tells one story above the horizon and a totally different store (foreground story) below the horizon line. I looked at the download image and held a piece of paper at different locations above and below the horizon. What you chose was a good balance, probably as a result of a good eye for the two stories.

Best point.. the horizon is near perfectly that... Horizontal.

I agree with Linda! Could stand to be a little lighter so details are better seen. Love the craggy mountains, the buffalo and of course, the horses.
What do you think about the straight line that divides the photos in half, horizontally? I might try to break that up somehow, just a thought.
Great B&W.

Don't change anything, a perfect B&W image.

I would be thinking about leaving it alone as well.

I like it, a little brighter maybe.
The two trees help tie the foreground to the mountains, breaking the split.

Many thanks for all the kind comments. For Linda, TheeGambler, and LongShadow, I've included a SLIGHTLY lighter version here. If it's dark, it's because (1) I think my iMac makes things look lighter than they are, and, well (2) I like the drama of dark tones.

Thanks, Linda! Yes, the one white horse is what grabbed me at the time. And he stood still for quite a while, helping me work the composition!

TG, thanks for your thoughts! While I tend to agree about the dividing line, short of "planting" some more trees, not sure what I could do. Appreciate the "great B&W" comment!
