I've been with Adobe for years. I've had the subscription service since its beginning. I have contacted Adobe several times and I have never been disappointed with their response time and help. Apple has superior customer support on the phone and as a venture partner I have had great success with a couple of their stores. Amazon has the best customer service in the country. As a matter of fact I really seldom have difficulty with anyones customer service or support. Maybe I'm lucky. Try to never antagonize the person on the other end of the phone or email. I always make sure I have a name, date and time of any contact along with a brief note of what transpired. My wife, on the other hand, has trouble with a few and she gives them the devil but, in the end, she usually gets what she needs or wants.

Haven't called it for about a year, but for Lightroom, try 800-833-6687.

I think more problems are solved in "on-line" chat: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/what-contact-options.html

Adobe also sponsors a forum full of skilled users that solve problems regularly: http://forums.adobe.com/community/lightroom

Perhaps a more interesting forum is hosted by author Victoria Brampton: http://www.lightroomforums.net/

I hate forums for software support. It's a bunch of people guessing how to solve a problem, and following some of their suggestions can be worse than doing nothing.

I had a terrible problem after a win ten release bricked my laptop. every thing would reinstall except creative cloud so OI could not even try to install PS or light room. the person I spoke with says he'd seen this before and asked my permission to link my laptop. the win ten reinstal had left parts of adobe in five different places where it shouldn't have been He had me fixed up in no time with cloud and stayed connected to me until I also had PS and lightroom installed. this was win 10's fault not adobe but he was a great help. If you want to contact him e-mail me and I'll look up angive you his email address hope this helps

Tuck, a little over a year ago, I was searching for the best software for the purpose of cataloging/key wording my growing collection coupled with non-destructive editing and became convinced that LR was the answer. At the time, LR 5 was just giving way to version 6. But then, I ran up against Adobe's 'cloud' institution with its monthly subscription business model and the (then) new LR 6 was only available thru their subscription cloud. I was reluctant to be tied to a subscription based service (though the promise of upgrades was appealing) and at the same time was goosey about having anything of mine in their 'cloud'. So, the solution for me was to purchase a CD ROM copy of LR 5 (which I believe is still available). Yes, I am frozen in time but it's mine, I own it and I have not found anything I need or want to do that's only available in later versions of LR.

LR 6 is available as a standalone upgrade. It takes some hunting, or a call to Adobe's sales line, but it IS available.

You don't have anything in their cloud. Everything is on your computer only, just as it's always been.

Or get it from Amazon, B&H, Best Buy, etc!

Thanks I will check it out.

Have you gone to the Cloud and typed in the code that's on the back of your Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan? For some reason all you are getting is a reply that your 30 day free trail is up. Stick with it and let us know what the problem was. If you have been using Ps and Lr very long I don't see how you could be without. What I find so nice is that when I buy a new camera body that I now don't have to buy (rent) new software just so the software recognizes the new body. I have one of the last Ps software prior to the new rental system but I never use it anymore because of all the advavces.

Good Luck

I, too, have noticed a far less than satisfactory Adobe 'customer service.' That is one of the main reasons I will not upgrade from PS CS4 and LR1. Besides, I don't do much if any editing of pictures anymore.

On1 products seem to be viable alternative.

I guess you disregard that Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are the worldwide standard for graphics and photographic editing? That there is an incredible vareity of available plug ins, filters, tutorials, classes and books? And that professionals make their living with these two incredible tools?

So, I guess when you're the "Big Dog", you don't have to worry about menial things like customer service any more.

While I agree with you that PS and LR are the "industry standard", Adobe has been acting like they have a monopoly and I predict that will eventually come back and bite em on the rear.

Actually, that's probably true for a lot more people than they realize. They'd be better off with a simpler, fully licensed and easier to use copy of Elements, instead. Since implementing the $10 a month PS/LR CC subscription program, Adobe has gotten a lot of "new users".... an awful lot of whom I would bet are in way, way over their heads with some of the most complex software available, never bought a "how to" book or taken a class, although they should have planned on about a year's worth of college level study to learn to use the s'ware well.

One thing we've seen since Adobe has forced the CC program down our collective throats is a massive increase of "help!" postings on forums like this one. Adobe apparently hasn't boosted their support to compensate for millions of new, inexperienced users.

With the amount of unhappiness with Adobe CC, it's predictable that competition will step up and offer better alternatives. In fact that seems to already be happening. Maybe that will force Adobe to be more flexible and supportive of their customers (right now they're just too busy counting their profits).

Sorry. The CD only holds the installer, everything else is brought down from Adobe's servers, which is why you need an Adobe ID to install. Do not be suprised when Adobe decides to end of life all installed stand alone products and yours stops working. Somewhere in the EUA there is probably text that you agreed to that says just that.

I am posting about the service or lack thereof from Adobe. I subscribe to the $10.00 a month subscription. All was well untill a week or so ago when lightroom stopped.I kept trying to log on ,I kept trying whatever links ,email, or phone numbers to no avail. It is almost as though they have no records of me being a paid subscriber. I am not getting what I paid for and it is frustrating to put it mildly. I have decided to explore options and find an outfit that is a lot more customer orientated. If I can figure out how to do it I will cancel,I will notify the bank in person that I am done with Adobe.By the way, they keep telling me that I am on a trial subscription with both PH and LR.Total waste of money. About the only thing they did right was take my renewal without asking,I would have said, not interested.
I am sure some of the UHH ers will get all smart on me and blame the consumer with any type of help desk I would not be posting this.

Hmm, sounds like you got logged out of you CC account and that's why things "stopped working" and why you're seeing the "trial version" message. Suggest you try logging into your CC account using the email address / password combination you setup when you subscribed. Got a feeling that you problems with this "waste of money" product will go away.

Look into OnOne Software out of Portland Ore. They have a excellent suite of products and there customer service is also excellent. I use both Photoshop CC and On1 Photo 10. You can download and try there product for a period of time. If you like it you can buy it. Reasonably priced also. I have used Photoshop for 25+ years and OnOne products for 20+ years. Also Topaz products are good.

Good shooting
