Not to mention creating an international incident and embarrassing the USA.

So there is not justice then? They get to break the law in Brazil and run home and hide under mommies skirts and everything is ok? I do not call that justice.

What is your suggestion?

Well, there is one form of justice that will last much longer than jail time. Mr. Locthes earnings potential for endorsements and other things was just reduced by about 95%. He will live with that the rest of his life.

Rio is so proud to have these Olympics, then these four privileged American brats have to go over there and trash our country. I've seen some TV announcers be apologists for these "kids"...whatever happened to responsibility. Lochte's "apology" isn't worth the paper it's written on. I hope something will remind these idiots of the people they've let down, most of all themselves.

It's a shame that people are trying to defend those guys. As you said, the apology is meaningless. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Lochte.

Isn't it funny how this man can lie to the police and the press is writing about it all day everyday, all the folks think he should lose his medals and never be allowed to enter Olympic Games again, but Clinton can lie to every American and the FBI and congress and is allowed to run for president and amass a fortune through underhanded deals as SS and praised as a great leader. It's pretty sad when you think about it.

Some think that he was about as sincere as the T-man and his apologies.

T-man as you put it is nothing even close to this DumbAss. He should be stripped of metals and never allowed at any Olympic event ever again!!!!

LOL!! Everybody has their own little political stamp and very little or no tolerance for those who differ! Look up the meaning of the word "prig" and see what you think. No,it is not a bad word as some probably think.

Last night, TV news reported that a Brazilian judge fined him
(or them) $11,000. which was paid. Then they got their passports back.

Their are too many different stories on this mishap.

His action was brought on by the GREEN WATER. His hair turned green and it also affected that part of his brain that makes sound decision. I say a law suit against Olympics and host country.

Party-On is totally behind this fine young man.

Yeah, extradition for criminal mischief and falsely reporting an incident.....

Nice sarcasm, Dave!

By the way, for those who watched the Rio press conference the swimmers did NOT lie to the police.....they exaggerated to,the press. They were smashed, did some dumb-assed criminal mischief, and DID have guns pulled on them and forced to fork over money to get back in their transportation and leave.

Yes, it certainly sounds like a form of robbery, and yes, they were wrong, and yes, the Rio gas station guards were wrong. There is enough grey in all of this to get off the backs of all involved and move on. If some of you are just soooooo much more sensitive than the rest of us, go don to Rio for a month and work for one of the slum charities to,help, those poor folks and bring your cash with you......you will enjoy it!

Our standards for political figures are low and they meet our expectations.

It would be interesting to have the IOC revoke his medals because of this. He lacks the character and moral direction to be representative of an Olympic champion.

American Swimmer Ryan Locthe has issued an apology for vandalism at a gas station in Brazil along with friends. He exaggerated his story that he was robbed. I have not watched the Olympics as I have in the past. But I do like women's gymnastics, all volleyball, and track and field. The Olympics will end on Sunday with the closing ceremonies. And as usual, the Americans will come home with the most medals. The Zika Virus did not affect athletes nor visiting spectators. That is good news.

It wasn't that way years ago with the Americans bringing home the most. Russia was the bit medal winner in the 20th century because the athletes were all state sanctioned. In the US the athletes paid for everything themselves so fewer medals.
