Thanks for the photos. Does the church hold Mass? How about the school. Is it functional? I thought dealing with the available light was well done too. I spent 32 years in Colorado. Now in Florida. Big mistake for someone my age. It's way too hot as well as too much humidity down here.

This is a real, live ghost town in New Mexico. I've been sworn to secrecy as to where it is, as they don't really want people clomping around all over it. But thought I'd share some of the images I was able to capture. These aren't great photographically. The light was wrong, it was hard getting in the right spot to see over the brush that has grown up, etc. But it was sure fun!

These are great AzPicLady. I live in Overland Park, Kansas. Once it cools down a little I plan to go out across the state out west and take photos of ghost towns in our state.I had googled ghost towns in Kansas a while back and was amassed at how many there were. So soon I will be on a mission, maybe one day a week to a different location, Will see. Thanks for photos.

Excellent series. You captured a true sense of desolation!

Yes, it is desolate. There are some places that appear to be inhabited, but I didn't see anyone around. Some report that "creepy" feeling that someone was watching them. I didn't feel that. Nor did anyone approach me with a rifle, as one person reported.

I always think of that - wondering who they were and where they went. I had a series of images of old, deserted houses that I called "broken dreams."

Thanks. I knew when I was shooting that things weren't going to be great. But I was there and at least it wasn't raining!

Thanks, Tom. Ghost towns are pretty amazing. So many here are just foundations with no buildings left. Vandals destroy a lot. I had relatives in Potwin, KS. It was almost a ghost town when we visited there! I'll look forward to your pictures.
