I was asked if I can set up a "selfie booth" at an event I'm attending this weekend out in Palm Desert. Was wondering how difficult it is to set one up and what special equipment if any I need to get. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

I can't help you. But I am curious to know just what that would be. I have never heard of one before.

This sounds like a Ralph Kramden scheme to get Ed Norton into. Good luck on this one !

In Lightroom you can set up a watched folder, tether the camera, and set up a slide show. Prefocus a lens, camera on a tripod, a speedlight or strobe, some large foam core to make a "booth," a flat screen display, and some wireless triggers and yo have a Selfie Booth where attendants can see the selfies being created in real time. You just need to figure out a way to keep people from walking off with the triggers.

THAT's what I'm talking about! Thank you, Gene! Skipping the foam core this time I think. And rethinking the whole "selfie" approach. It'll just have to be a photo booth this time. I'll likely man the booth myself to keep an eye on the equipment. We'll go big next time!

I've done this a few times - and it works like a charm. Set the camera up using a couple of test exposures - then go full manual on everything. You'll love the results as will the guests.
