I have never played around with B&W but it sounds interesting to find out what it would look like.
Of course you can't see the results on the RR paper, but I printed this B&W on it and WOW! Looks magical!

That is a great photo and I know you can't duplicate the effect but I can imagine how the the cliffs and other bright areas pop out out of the picture. Thanks for posting!

Thank you. Some of the rocks on the shore almost look like sparkly gems on this paper.

Like I said earlier, I print almost all of my photos on the R. R. Pearl metallic paper. I have to change a few of mine to B&W and try it out.
Are there any other RR papers you use?
I use Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper most of the time that I am not using the Metallic paper. Sometimes I will try sample packs from Epson, Red River or at some of the Expos they have deals on sample packs. I do tend to return to the Pearl Metallic because after trying many different papers, it is still 'my' favorite.

My normal paper is Canon Pro Luster.
RR Polar Pearl Metallic, is all I use for B & W/ 'monotone' anymore. These are customer prints, (hardly ever print anything for me), they seem to love it, and for good reason.
