I will be in Richmond all day Thursday, what sites do you recommend I visit for good nature or other "outdoors" pictures?

My son used to work at Maymont Park, its really nice. Hollywood cemetary is a big tourist attraction. Downtown has the James river. People actually can run some rapids down there. There is a nice vantage point near the Federal Reserve building. Its been raining lately, so the river may have a little white water...

If you are interested in history at all you are going to the right place. Hollywood cemetary is a must also see the musieum of the confederacy a short trip to Petersburg will also be rewarding. Oh yes Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown are also less than an hour away. All of these areas are very photogenic. Enjoy

There is a great blue heron rookery right in the middle of Richmond.

And a guy named Mike Ostrander who takes people on his boat for bald eagle tours to see them very close.
