Have to post a redo of one of the sunspots that I redid in AutoStakkert!2

This is a restack of 400 frames out of a 2015 frame AVI.
I stacked it in AutoStakkert!2 allowing the program to select the alignment points. (According to the warning that pops up its not recommended for planets.. Ok, this is the Sun, Onward.)
I exported and cropped it in RegiStax6.1 and then ran it through the newest Lightroom CC to add color and clean up some minor noise.
I then brought it back into Canon Photo Professional and resized it upwards.
I am pretty darn happy with this one.

Looks nice! Reminds me of what we used to do with iron filings and a magnet in science class in school several hundred years ago. Well maybe 50 years ago.

That looks so hot!

So here's a side thought, Jim...
Can you superimpose the earth for a size comparison?

Just curious about size relationship with the Sun Spot.

Thanks Sonny,

I don't know what the correct size would be. I have thought about it though.

Thank you Jim.
When I was a kid we used to collect them in the dry creeks around town.
Someone once told us they were meteorites so of course we did.

You have every right to be proud of all the work you've done with the Sun.

You should post the original processed image as a comparison.

As for size, roughly the sun is 109x the physical size of the earth. Weight wise though, Sol is over 300,000x the size of earth. The sun contains over 90% of all the matter in our solar system.

At a guess I would say the earth is the size of the sunspot imaged, at least lengthwise.

That is if my memory holds true.
Your image looks fantastic,
Matthew
