hey bear....Read the article, truer words were never spoken...I have a Canon 60D and ONLY one lens. A Tamron 24 - 300. It does all i ask for. And the only thing my backpack holds is a bottle of water and some extra san-discs. Anything else is just extra weight...

Personally I use a Lumix FZ40: 18 Mp, RAW, Full manual, 24-720 equivalent and always in my pocket. I've gotten many great shots just because I always have it with me. The only drawbacks in my view are the small sensor size and lack of external flash. I've 2 DSLRs, 2 120 and 1 35mm film cameras but It's a big deal at 61 to haul them around.
My little FZ40 does alright by me as does my Mamyia Universal Press.
